Bottom 10 SNES Games

Image
April 1, 2008 - Welcome to IGN Retro's new weekly countdown of the strange, silliest, and best moments in classic gaming: Top 10 Tuesday. But don't let that "top" part lull you -- we'll point out just as much infamy on these lists as we do the good stuff. Many hardcore gamers regard the Super Nintendo as one of the best videogame systems ever. Ev-ah! To that kind of hyperbole, IGN Retro says: Pish-posh. The SNES was a great system, but it is no Colecovision. It's no Vectrex. It's no TurboGrafx-16. All systems the refuge of true hardcore gamers. That's not to say there aren't a few good games for the SNES. But no system since the Atari 2600 has hosted so much shovelware as the SNES. And it's time we called out some of the worst offenders on this system that the hardcore crowd loves to defend to the death on message boards 'round the Intertron 3000. 10) Mario Kart A s much as we love Double Dash!! around these here parts, 7.9 is far too g

April 1, 2008 - The previous episode of Naruto really wasn't that good. It suffered from the fact that the episode was just boring and didn't do a good job of getting us into the story. With this episode there was a hope that maybe we'd finally be interested in this mission. Sadly, the report is that this episode managed to remain somewhat stagnant. When we last left Naruto and the rest of Team Guy, they were running to catch up with Rukosuke, the villager who went by himself to rescue his friend from his grave. The Kurosuke clan of course catches Rukosuke. Rukosuke must have had quite the lead on Naruto and the rest of the team, because when Naruto arrives at the village, it's always daylight and Rukosuke's funeral is almost about to start. When the team gets to the village, they notice that the villagers are being forced to dig in a cave for minerals that can be tur

March 31, 2008 - Tuesday marks the 10th anniversary of a landmark event in PC gaming. On April 1, 1998, Blizzard unleashed its sci-fi real-time strategy game StarCraft upon the world. While the developers knew they had made a great game, no one foresaw what would happen next. As of May of last year, Blizzard had sold 9.5 million copies of the game, which makes appearances on Top 10 sales lists even today. In South Korea, where it's sold almost five million copies alone, StarCraft is practically a national obsession with professional leagues and sponsorships. Now Blizzard is busy working on the long-awaited sequel to StarCraft, but we were able to talk with several employees who were veterans of the original game for their thoughts on this historic milestone. We chatted with Chris Sigaty, lead tester; Sam Didier, art director; and Frank Pearce, a Blizzard cofounder and now executive vice president of product development. Bob Colayco of Blizzard PR also sat in. In case you're t
